Hi Welcome to Super School-Age Care!
My name is Gayleen, and I am the provider and teacher of Super School-Age Care. Our program is located in a separate building specifically designed for preschool through school-age youth in SE Rochester, Minnesota. I have early childhood/ elementary education degrees. I am a licensed family childcare provider and I treat this profession as my business. In my lifetime I have worked in several settings as a Director of a center, Learning Readiness, Early Childhood Child Educator, Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, Head Start, Kindergarten Readiness Instructor and a teacher at many different centers. I have been working with young children for 21 years. My last job was as a CCR&R Grant Coordinator helping providers and centers get started and offering technical assistance and facilitating the grants program to help them obtain equipment and supplies to run their business. I loved being a Grant Coordinator but one thing was missing, direct contact with children as all of my previous jobs I had before. That is when I decided to start my own family child care and be with children again helping them learn and grow! I will try to provide the best care and service for your preschool/ school age child (3- 12 yrs). I offer a small group size, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment, and plenty of encouragement so that your child can learn and grow, and of course have fun in a safe environment. All the children are involved in the decision making process of this program. I tell the children that this is their program and I want it to be fun for them. The children help decide themes, activities, and meals. We also have character building activities and talk about anti-bullying. Bullying is not allowed in my program. My philosophy is if you help a child develop a good self-esteem he/she can accomplish anything!
